What to do after the installation
After installing Cuevision Server Monitor, there are a few steps you should take to ensure success.
Configure the service account
The Cuevision Server Monitor service is installed when you run the setup program. If you plan on monitoring remote systems using monitors such as the performance monitor, you will need to run the
service using an account that has rights to the remote servers. The account should also have rights on the local system.
Configure the WMI Account
Some monitors use Window Management Interface (WMI) for communicating with remote systems. Configure a user name and password by selecting Tools -> Options from the menu, then
selecting the Connection tab.
Configure Proxy Settings
If your company uses a proxy server to gain internet access, you will need to configure the settings in the console. Select Tools -> Options from the menu,
then select the Proxy Settings tab. Click the 'Enable Proxy Configuration' check box. Fill in the required fields. When you create HTTP/HTTPS monitors, you should
select the 'Use Proxy' check box if required.
Start the Messenger Service
If you plan on receiving network or local popup messages, set the messenger service to start automatically, then start it if it is not already started.
Start Monitoring
A sample monitor list is loaded the first time you run Cuevision Server Monitor. Create a new monitor list and start adding monitors.
